Welcome to Mrs. Lindsey's 7th Grade Science Class: 
This is my third year teaching at Southaven Middle School!! I am very excited as we start this school year! I graduated from Mississippi State with my Bachelors in 2007 and then with my Masters in 2014. 
I am a native of DeSoto County and grew up in Hernando. My family is very important to me. I have been married for 14 years and have one daughter. Some of my hobbies include Cooking and Baking, Spending time at the lake, Reading, Riding ATV’s and Motorcycles, Hunting, Spending time with family, and Traveling.

7th Grade Supply List

  • Writing Utensil: pen or pencil (preferably mechanical)
  • Hand held pencil sharpener
  • 2 Composition Notebooks (Only need to bring 1 to school to start with)
  • Scissors
  • Coloring Utensil: crayons, colored pencils, or markers
  • Highlighter
  • Endless supply of glue or tape!

Netflix: Extended Learning

Directions: Use all you have learned in the classroom to complete any of the assignments below. Use vocabulary  words you have learned this year to strengthen your use and knowledge of this year's materials. Take what you have learned in the classroom and see what it looks like in the real world and how it is used to discover the mysteries of our world.

 

Decoding the Weather Machine: Write a ONE page summary of the documentary stating what is happening to the climate investigation, how it can be fixed, and how you can play a part in helping this problem. Use prior knowledge to help you complete this assignment.

Natures Weirdest Events: For EACH episode write one paragraph summary for each strangle world event or phenomenon it presents. 

 

 

One episode will cover one assignment. You can email me your summaries.

 

A Plastic Ocean: Write a one page summary about the effect of plastic on our oceans, how you can help, and an idea to help clean our oceans!

72 cutest animals: For each episode write a summary for each animal you meet along your journey.

72 dangerous animals: For each episode write a summary for each animal you meet along your journey. Does not matter which series you watch. 

The parent-teacher relationship is vital to your student’s success in school. We can help your child have a fulfilling learning experience by working together. One way you can keep track of upcoming school events, view student progress, and communicate with me is through SchoolStatus. If you have questions or concerns at any time, please write me a note, send me an email, or call me at school and leave a message. You may also set up a conference through the Guidance Office.
