Mrs. Shameka Bradley, Principal

I am honored to serve as the principal of Southaven Middle School,  and I'm ready to witness the growth in the students of the Southaven community.  

My staff and I will work together to provide a safe and positive learning environment as we work toward a growth mindset.  Our mission is to develop lifelong learners in an environment that promotes academic excellence. The philosophy centered around this mission is to build positive relationships with students, parents, and the community of Southaven.  Our teachers will work hard to provide an educational experience that will focus on academic, social, and emotional growth throughout the year.  Our expectations will be high as we “Charge Toward Excellence”!

Mr. Jamie Armstrong, Asst. Principal

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Management at The University of Mississippi in May of 2002. I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership – Principal Track at Arkansas State University in 2013.

I began my teaching career at Kate Griffin Middle School during the 2002-2003 school year. The next year I moved to Holly Springs Career Tech Center where I taught marketing. I have spent the last 15 years teaching in the Special Education Department at various schools in DCS where I taught inclusion classes and coached football and track.

Mr. Granger Brown, Asst. Principal

Mr. Granger Brown is honored to serve as assistant principal and be a part of the Southaven Middle School family. He has over twenty years of experience in education. Mr. Brown is passionate about education and providing cohesive partnerships, structure, and support to help others grow and reach their full potential. 

Mr. Brown received an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College, a Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Regis University. During his tenure in education, he has taught inclusion, middle school math (6-8), SREB math, and Algebra I. He is a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and resides in Southaven with his wife, Jami.

Mrs. Sondra Hinton, Asst. Principal

Mrs. Hinton is married to her husband, Wade, and together, they have three children. After graduating from college in 1999, she started teaching for DeSoto County Schools. Mrs. Hinton has since obtained her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.

Throughout her career, she has taught English at multiple grade levels and served as an Intervention Specialist and English Language Arts Specialist. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Courtney Isom, Asst. Principal

Courtney Isom is an Assistant Principal at Southaven Middle School, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from The University of Mississippi and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. She also received her National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in 2022. With seven years of experience teaching grades 1-5 and two years as an assistant principal, Mrs. Isom has developed a deep commitment to student equity, ensuring that every student has access to the resources and support they need to succeed.

Mrs. Isom is also passionate about holistic education, focusing on nurturing every aspect of a child's development, not just academics. Mrs. Isom enjoys reading thriller books, working out, and spending quality time with her husband and two children.

Mrs. Allison Stanford, Asst. Principal

I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal at Southaven Middle School!  My journey in education began at Athens State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I graduated from Arkansas State University with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.  I had the privilege of teaching Mathematics at the high school level for sixteen years prior to moving into an assistant principal role at Southaven High School.

Outside of my professional life, I am a proud wife and mother and enjoy hiking outdoors.   I look forward to collaborating with faculty, staff, and parents to enhance the educational experience for all students!  I am honored to be a Charger!
