Subjects Taught
8th Grade English

I am a graduate of the University of Mississippi where I earned a Bachelor's degree in General Studies. I had three areas of focus and those were African American Literature, Religious Studies, and History.

While this will be my first year as a lead classroom teacher, it is not my first year in the classroom. I worked for 2 years as a Special Education Assistant at Center Hill High School where I helped students with learning disabilities to be successful in and out of the classroom, while supporting the lead classroom teacher for the success of all the students. In years prior to Center Hill I worked as a tutor, specializing in working with disadvantaged students. When my son was diagnosed with cancer in my second year at Center Hill High School, I took that time to take care of my family and finish my Bachelor's degree so I could return to the classroom and fulfill my dream as a lead ELA teacher.
